Who We Are
At Calgary Interiors we focus our attention on three main areas of
service. We design and build custom furniture
for residential needs, we design and build custom commercial furniture
installations and we restyle and upholster vintage furniture pieces. The
range of furniture items we work with includes soft goods such as sofas,
chairs, chaise lounges, beds and seating for hospitality and banquet
areas.
Not only do we custom design our own quality pieces, we also can
re-create and build furniture from photographs and/or designs that are
provided by our clients. Furniture recovering and restoration is a
viable and practical option in many cases and we try to teach our
customers that it is right thing to do. We carry a very nice line of
eco-friendly materials at Calgary Interiors. While it is of great
importance to produce the best quality of product possible, we also
maintain an ongoing effort to remain as environmentally conscious as
well.
Company History
Calgary Interiors & Upholstery was first created in 1963 by Steve
Wenzel and his partner Chris Myer. In 1973, Steve bought the remaining
shares from Chris and assumed sole proprietary ownership of the
business. Steve's sons Kevin and Jeff Wenzel came into the business an
1993 and 1994 respectfully and eventually purchased operating shares to
the company in 1997.
In 2006, after many years of leasing buildings in a variety of
locations, the Wenzel brothers settled on a great new location in
Inglewood and purchased the building of their current operations. Only
months after finding their way into their new site in Inglewood, the
company hired an experienced and skilled foreman in Clive Davis who
managed operations at Kai Mortensen and Mountain Furniture for almost 40
years. With Clive's exceptional background in furniture production and a
staff mix of experience and youthful energy, our shop had never run
smoother and our customer service excellence has never been better.
